Cord Management: Some Things are Worth Hiding

I meticulously hide cords and wires from site in my home.  I use cable ties to restrain and black masking tape to conceal. I cut, splice, and re-route so that cords and wires are barely visible.  I even built a small platform for my drip coffee station to hide the clunky appliance cords. 

I know this sounds excessive.  But there’s something magical about a space that is lit up and functional, seemingly without effort.  It’s subtle, and most people who visit my home never say anything about it. 

But they feel it, I think, because it declutters the space and makes it seem like the house is living on its own, without being plugged into the rest of the world. 

Not everything needs to be seen.  In fact, some things are worth hiding so that more important things can get the attention.
